Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
freedownloadppt.org is an independent tool for processing one public SlideShare presentation link at a time. You do not need an account. For privacy requests, contact support@freedownloadppt.org.
Links, previews and files
When you submit a link, our Cloudflare-hosted service requests the source page and returns a short-lived preview manifest. Preview images pass through our restricted proxy. PDF and PPTX files are created in your browser and are not uploaded back to us. We do not maintain a library or download history of your submitted links, slide images or generated files.
To avoid repeatedly fetching the same presentation, our service may temporarily cache its title, slide count and public slide-image source addresses on Cloudflare for up to 15 minutes. The cache key is a hash of the validated source URL. This cache does not include your identity, cookies, short-lived preview tokens, source HTML, image files or generated files. It is separate from optional analytics.
Cloudflare and the source platform process network requests, including IP addresses and request metadata, to deliver and protect the service. Our application error messages and diagnostic logs use error codes, timing and counts rather than submitted presentation URLs or third-party page contents. Hosting and security providers apply their own retention practices.
Necessary cookies and local storage
When you use the downloader, the first-party fdppt_client cookie stores a random identifier for rate limiting and abuse prevention for up to one year. It does not contain your IP address, presentation URL or account details. It is HttpOnly and is sent only to this site.
fdppt_privacy_v1 in your browser’s local storage remembers whether you allow optional analytics for 180 days. It contains your choice, a version and an expiry time, not your submitted links. After it expires we ask again. These storage items are used to provide the service and remember your privacy choice.
Cookie-free basic statistics
We use self-hosted Plausible at plausible.shipsolo.io to measure page visits and download actions without analytics cookies. It loads independently of your optional analytics choice, including when you choose “Basic statistics only”. Requests include the page address, referrer and technical network information. Our custom events contain a fixed action name, page language and, for failures, a predefined error category, never your submitted presentation link, slide content or generated file. Sample events are recorded separately from public presentation tasks. File-generation events mean that the browser created the file and started saving it; they do not confirm that it was saved on your device.
Google Analytics consent mode
Google Analytics 4 loads in advanced consent mode. Before you choose, or when you choose “Basic statistics only”, analytics storage is denied: Google receives limited cookieless measurement signals without reading or writing analytics cookies. These requests may include the page address, consent state, browser and device information, and technical network information such as your IP address. This mode still sends data to Google; it does not provide the same user and session measurement as cookie-based analytics. Our configured page address excludes query parameters and fragments, and the configured referrer is empty.
Optional analytics
Choosing “Allow optional analytics” enables Google Analytics cookies and loads Microsoft Clarity for additional visit and interaction analysis. You can choose “Basic statistics only” and still use the downloader.
When allowed, these providers may receive page addresses, referrers, IP addresses, browser and device information, usage events and identifiers. For Google Analytics source attribution, we send only the external referrer’s origin (scheme, domain and port), without its credentials, path, search terms or fragment. Internal referrers are omitted. Google Analytics and Clarity may use cookies, including cookies whose names begin with _ga, and Clarity’s _clck and _clsk. Cookie and data retention vary by provider and service settings. Clarity provides session interaction analysis; the downloader area is explicitly masked. Our custom download events include the action and page language, not the presentation URL or file.
You can reopen “Privacy settings” on any page to change your choice. Withdrawing consent reloads the page to stop Clarity and restart Google Analytics in its limited cookieless mode and clears accessible first-party analytics cookies; save your file first because the current preview will be cleared. Previously collected data is not automatically erased. Contact us about access or deletion requests. If browser storage is unavailable, Google Analytics stays in limited cookieless mode and Clarity remains off. Plausible and limited Google Analytics measurement remain active when optional analytics are declined, consent expires or consent is withdrawn.
Service providers and external resources
Cloudflare provides hosting, security, delivery and site performance measurement. Fonts load from Google Fonts. These network resources may receive IP addresses and technical request information when the page loads, independently of optional analytics. SlideShare receives requests needed to process a submitted link. Providers may process information outside your country.
Read Cloudflare’s privacy policy, Google’s privacy policy, Plausible’s data policy and Microsoft’s privacy statement. We use the self-hosted edition of Plausible at plausible.shipsolo.io; Plausible’s published policy describes its technology, not the hosting and retention settings of our instance.
Advertising
This site does not currently serve Google AdSense ads. The analytics choice above does not authorize advertising cookies or personalized advertising.
If we introduce advertising, we will update this policy and provide the required choices before enabling it. Ad providers, including Google, may then place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses or other identifiers to deliver and measure ads. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and Google’s ad privacy controls. These advertising activities are not enabled by the current analytics controls.
Your requests
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data, object to processing or withdraw consent. Email the address above with the type of request and enough context to identify it. Do not send passwords, cookies, private presentation files or other sensitive information. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.
